Definition
The object of this is to assess the weight of bulk cargoes on board a vessel’s draft marks before and after loading or discharge. This procedure also accounts for any change in the weight on board

Reporting
- Each intervention will be summarized in written report
Typical operations performed
- 1. Attendance of vessel on arrival at port or anchorage
- 2. Reading or measuring the draft before and after loading or discharge and calculation of the mean draft corrected for hull deformation
- 3. Calculation of the corresponding displacement and correcting displacement for the effect of the trim and list
- 4. Sampling the surrounding water, measuring the apparent density, and calculating of displacement correcting of displacement correction for density
- 5. Measurement of deductible liquid on board
- 6. Asses net weight of cargoes loaded or discharged
